Claire Hallett, M.A.

Clinician

I understand that therapy can be a difficult, and sometimes scary, process. My first priority is to create a warm and welcoming environment where clients will feel safe. I enjoy collaborating with clients to create a plan for therapy that accounts for their strengths as well as their preferences. I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities (e.g., emotion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy) to tailor therapy to individual clients.

I have a master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour with a specialization in mental health from McMaster University. I am currently a PhD student in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at the University of Toronto.  Here at Danforth Psychology, I am working under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Corney.

I have training and experience in providing both assessment and psychotherapy. My previous placements include: the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education’s (OISE) Psychology Clinic, where I worked with clients with a variety of concerns including depression or mood, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, as well as difficult life transitions. And St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where I had a focus in two clinics: the Women’s Health Concerns Clinic, where I worked with pregnant and postpartum women experiencing anxiety or depression, and the Sleep Medicine Clinic, where I worked with individuals experiencing insomnia.

I would encourage you to contact the clinic for a consult to determine if I can be of help to you.
